The judge "Ken Scott ARPS" deliberated all morning to select the final 45 from the 70 + panels entered, and during the afternoon sessions provided a concise and educational critique to the audience of all the selected panels.

THE ART AND TRAGEDY OF MARK ROTHKO

Mark Rothko was an abstract painter who used colour to describe mood.

His earlier works were bright, but became darker as his mental state deteriorated. His last paintings before his suicide consisted of  only black and grey.

The Tate gallery in London has a permanent room exclusively showing his work.
